They say that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, but it’s currently 54 degrees in NJ – so who knows? All I know is Spring is my favorite time to empty closets. It’s a bit of an obsession, but I can’t stop myself.

I literally will spend days on end emptying closets, drawers, storage bins, etc. anything I can find to purge I will. We amass bags upon bags of clothes to donate. I try and add a few to my car every day and spread them out around the donation bins around town. Years ago, I tried to go to a resale place with the kids’ clothes, but the woman didn’t like all the tie dye Ava always wore, so I got insulted and left. LOL!

Spring is like New Years to me. Each spring, I always make a resolution to lose 10 pounds before summer. I say to myself, “Risa, it’s March, if you lose 1 pound a week until June 1 you will be in a bikini.” Now, honestly, I haven’t worn a bikini since I was 5, so just like most resolutions, I failed. I have come to learn that these extra 10 are mine to own and no amount of spring cleaning is going to get rid of it. So, I must own it – just like that Van Halen t-shirt from ‘85 that I can never seem to get rid of either.
