Washing your Hands in School
Kids can become infested with germs by touching their eyes, nose, or mouth with dirty hands. Washing hands is the best and most effective way to get rid of these germs. It may be difficult to get kids to pick up on washing their hands as frequently as they need to, but it is not impossible! Remind children when, and for how long, to wash their hands and lead them by example. Can’t forget to take care of yourself too! It is also important to teach kids the proper way to wash their hands –

1. Wet hands
2. Use soap and lather for 20 seconds – be sure to get in between fingers, under fingernails and on the backs of hands
3. Rinse and dry
Teaching kids proper hand hygiene now will keep them safe and healthy in the long run!
