Back-To-School Hairstyles - Part 1
-
1. Brush and detangle hair using Fairy Tales Tangle Tamer® Detangling Spray so it’s smooth and knot-free.
-
2. Gather the top half of the hair (from temple to temple), spray Curly-Q™ Kids Styling Spray Gel and pull it back into a half-up ponytail at the crown. Secure with one small elastic.
-
3. Make a small gap above that elastic and flip the ponytail through the gap (a “topsy tail”) to create a neat twisted knot at the base.
-
4. Measure ~2–3 inches below the first elastic and add a second elastic around the ponytail.
-
5. Pinch the hair in the middle of that section (between the elastics) and gently pull outward on both sides to “pancake” it into a rounded bubble then thread the ponytail through the hole.
-
6. Repeat: Add another elastic 2–3 inches below the previous one, pinch the hair in the middle of the section, pancake it outward, and thread the ponytail through the hole. Continue this process until you reach the ends of the ponytail.
-
8. Lightly tug and loosen each bubble to even their size and get a fuller look. Finish with a spritz of Curly-Q™ Kids Styling Spray Gel for extra hold.
Back to School Hairstyles - Part 2
- 1. Spray Curly-Q™ Spray Gel on the top portion of the hair, then brush only the top section smooth.
- 2. Braid the top section and pull it into a high ponytail at the crown of the head. Secure with a strong elastic.
- 3. Twist the ponytail section into a small bun at the top of the head and secure with a elastic.
-
4. Mess up the bun: Gently pull on strands of the bun to loosen it and create a messy, textured look.
- 5. Secure the bun with some bobby pins.
- 6. Finish off the look by spraying Curly-Q™ Spray Gel and scrunch hair lightly to hold the hair and enhance texture.
Back to School Hairstyles - Part 3
-
1. Spray Tangle Tamer® Detangling Spray on hair, then brush smooth and straight to remove tangles.
-
2. Take two small sections of hair from the front of the head (near the temples) — one on each side — and secure each section with a small elastic at the root.
-
3. After securing the front section with a small elastic at the root, measure about 2–3 inches down and add a second elastic.
- 4. Pinch the hair between the two elastics and gently pull outward on both sides to “pancake” it, forming a rounded bubble.
-
5. Repeat down each section: Continue adding elastics every 2–3 inches, pinching and pancaking each section to create multiple bubbles.
-
Optional: Tug lightly on the bubbles for a fuller, more textured look.
- 6. Finish off the look by spraying Curly-Q™ Spray Gel and scrunch hair lightly to hold the hair and enhance texture.
Back to School Hairstyles - Part 4
- 1. Spray Detangling Spray on hair, then brush smooth and straight to remove tangles.
- 2. Part the hair down the middle from the forehead to the crown.
- 3. Spray Curly-Q™ Spray Gel on the hair to tame any flyway's and comb again.
- 4. On one side, gather a small section from the front hairline (temple area) and pull it toward the back starting your braid.
- 5. Braid each front section halfway down the head (toward the back) and secure the ends with small hair ties.
-
6. Lift up the braids and hold them out of the way (or have the child hold them).
-
7. Create a ponytail with the remaining hair at the back of the head and secure it with a strong elastic.
-
8. Bring the braids back into the ponytail and remove the small hair ties from the braid ends so they blend seamlessly into the ponytail.
-
9. Finish with Curly-Q™ Spray Gel over the style to secure the hair and hold the look in place.
Back-To-School Hairstyles - Part 5
- 1. Spray Detangling Spray on hair, then brush smooth and straight to remove tangles.
- 2. Create a side part, with the larger section on the side you’ll start the braid.
-
3. Begin a braid using only strands from the front of the larger parted side. Braid down toward the ear.
-
4. Take a small section of hair from the front near the ear, tie it with a small elastic to create a mini ponytail.
-
5. Take a section of hair from the back and braid that strand all the way down.
-
6. Take the front braid and the small ponytail from earlier, twist them together a few times, then continue braiding down toward the ends.
-
7. Finish the style: Smooth any flyaways and set the braid with Curly-Q™ Spray Gel to hold the look in place.
