Celebrity Hairstylist Hair Tips for Boys with Wavy Hair

We asked Amy Komorowski, celebrity men’s groomer to Richard Madden, Andrew Garfield, Jonas Brothers, and Sebastian Stan, some hair care questions from a hair expert, and a mom!
- What are your top tips for maintaining healthy wavy hair between salon visits?
Amy Komorowski: Maintain healthy waves and curls by making sure to brush out any knots daily, use water or a refresher spray to revitalize the hair and keep hair moisturized using a hair cream or gel.
- What’s the most common mistake people with wavy hair make when styling it, and how can they correct it?
Amy Komorowski: Once curls or waves are formed let them set and dry and do not brush or run your hands through them. Using too much product can weigh the hair down.
- Can you recommend the best products for enhancing natural waves without causing frizz or weighing the hair down?
Amy Komorowski: The best products are water to dampen the hair and a refresher spray like Fairy Tales Curly-Q Refresher Spray to help moisturize and reignite the curls. Use a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush with flexible bristles for detangling.
- Are there any trending cuts or styles that work particularly well for wavy hair, especially for low-maintenance routines?
Amy Komorowski: The best haircuts and styles for curly hair enhance the natural texture and minimize frizz, while making the curls more defined and manageable. It’s best to keep hair a bit longer with wavy or curly hair to allow the curls to form. A shag is great for wavy hair and shoulder-length with layers gives curls room to bounce and maintain their shape.
- When you’re styling wavy hair for your celebrity clients, what are your go-to techniques and must-have products to achieve that perfect, red-carpet-ready look? As a mom, how do you transition that expertise to caring for your own kids' wavy hair at home?
