What It Means to Be a Woman-Owned Business (and a Mom) in 2025

International Women's Day

Being a woman in 2025 means juggling—business, kids, life—all while pretending we have it together. Spoiler: we don’t. As the founder of Fairy Tales Hair Care and a mom, I’ve taken work calls from the carpool line, signed school permission slips with a mascara wand, and built a business fueled by determination (and caffeine).

When I started this company, I just wanted safe, effective hair care for kids. What I created was so much more—a trusted brand, a team of incredible women, and proof that we can chase dreams and keep tiny humans alive at the same time.

Being a woman-owned business isn’t just about running a company—it’s about lifting others up. It’s about mentoring, hiring, and showing the next generation (including the kids who hijack our phone chargers) that they belong in every room where decisions are made.

So here’s to the women making it all happen. The moms, the business owners, the dreamers, the doers. The ones who sometimes crush it, sometimes cry in the shower, and always keep going. Happy International Women’s Day—keep running the world, ladies (and maybe take a moment to enjoy that coffee while it’s still hot).

xx
